Whether it's the perennially popular silver stick minor hockey tournaments held each December at area arenas, hosting the Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships last fall, rowing regattas on picturesque Little Lake or rolling out the red carpet for champion curlers, Southern Georgian Bay charms have captivated visitors from across the country and around the world.

Since 1992, the area has been home to Atlantic Challenge Canada, a unique experiential education program teaching youth leadership and teamwork skills using wooden replica 18th century French long boats. This year we're proud to host Atlantic Challenge the international contest of seamanship which will see youth teams travel from countries such as France, Denmark, Finland, United States, Italy, Ireland and Wales to compete on the waters of Georgian Bay in summer 2010.
