Family Trips on Southern Georgian Bay

Whether you’re travelling with tots, teens or in-betweens there’s plenty to see and do and Southern Georgian Bay is the perfect destination for a family trip…

1. Travel back in time with hands-on activities for the kids while learning fascinating facts about the early Jesuit missionaries at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons or step aboard the tall ships and learn about the life of sailors, shipwrights and officers at Discovery Harbour. Walk through a longhouse, climb lookout towers, and try your luck at Native games at Huronia Museum and Huron Ouendat Village.  Ask about the ghostly footprints in the floor that can’t be scrubbed away at Penetanguishene Centennial Museum and Archives. Visit the Martyrs’ Shrine and its outstanding scenic views.

2. Snakes, turtles, birds of prey, canoeing, kayaking, snow shoeing, skiing and much more the Wye Marsh is a delightful destination whatever the season.

3. Tiny tots will treasure the time they spend in a fairy-tale land at Castle Village & Enchanted Kingdom Park. Teens (if they dare) can explore Dracula’s Dungeon and Museum of Horror and enjoy The Museum of Medieval Arms, Armour and Heraldry.

4. Beach Day!!  Enjoy the sand and water at our many local beaches.

5. Enjoy a day at the playground, skateboard, or engage in a volleyball, basketball, or baseball game.   Zip around the half mile asphalt track in a go-kart or practice your putting at an 18 hole mini-putt golf course.
