Nature at it’s best! The Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre in Midland, Ontario invites you to leap into a natural experience you will always remember.
We are open every day (except Christmas) and invite you to enjoy the fresh air as you ski or snowshoe through the marsh, or just take a hike on our marked trails. If you prefer, you can take a canoe or snowshoe ecotour with one of our Naturalists. This three hour ecotour includes animal tracking, tree identification, fire starting, roasting bannock over an open fire, hand feeding chickadees, and hot chocolate.
The Wye Marsh is designated as an Important Bird Area and is home to an amazing diversity of bird species. Wye Marsh provides nesting habitat to some uncommon species such as Least Bittern, Black Tern and the Trumpeter Swan. We are also one of the best places to observe the habits of mammals such as beaver, porcupine, mink and river otter.
The Marsh has activities for all age groups, fitness levels and seasons. Be sure to stop by, spend an hour or pack a lunch and stay all day!
